Planning System : Design Checklist

If you break up any system there are several aspects:

  • Firstly, there are milestones.
  • Secondly, we are talking about ‘how’ which has 2 aspects – i) how it is to be delivered from a project point of view and ii) technical solutions which you have to put on the ground. Planning will have an impact on how people will execute the project, but no impact on the quality of the technical solution people are coming out with. That has been figured out in P0/ P1.
  • There are coordination failures where things may not come on time, etc. That 5 – 10% self-balancing needs to take place within the CU or DU without impacting the overall commitment. Only after it crosses that threshold, it impacts the central level.
  • Also there may be some human failures, it has nothing to do with this, it has to be dealt with separately.
  • Planning has a role only in 1, 2 and 4.
